Located at 38b Yaya Abatan in Ogba, Lagos, Marvinkitchen has grown from a humble hobby into a thriving culinary business. What began as a passion project in a small kitchen evolved over time, leading the founder to enhance their skills and open a professional space. Now, four years later, Marvinkitchen operates two locations, serving a growing community in Ogba.
The journey hasn’t been without its challenges—balancing business with home duties has been a test, yet with perseverance and faith, Marvinkitchen continues to thrive. With a background in Computer Science, the founder brings a unique blend of creativity and technical insight to the business. Their love for creativity and teaching has enriched their career, creating a space where students and customers alike find inspiration and connection.

The Story of CHEZ-IJAY EVENTS & CAKES: Baking with Purpose
CHEZ-IJAY EVENTS & CAKES, based in Ikeja, Lagos, is more than a bakery; it’s a vision brought to life by a passionate entrepreneur determined to make a difference. The journey began in 2017, when the founder made a bold choice to leave her job and pursue a career in the Event & Cake industry. Driven by a desire not only to bake but to build opportunities and support community development, she set out to transform her passion into a purposeful venture.
Starting out in a new environment presented its own challenges: building a client base, marketing on social media, managing delivery costs, and maintaining creativity while avoiding burnout. Yet, with dedication and resilience, CHEZ-IJAY EVENTS & CAKES has grown into a respected brand, with the founder’s qualifications—BSc in Biochemistry, MSc in Nutritional Biochemistry, and training in event planning and sugar craft—bringing a unique level of expertise to her work.
Participating in events like the Acabado Meet and Greet as a facilitator has been especially fulfilling for her. The chance to share knowledge, engage with participants, and inspire others fuels her passion for teaching and connecting with the community.
Inspired by Nigeria’s high unemployment rate, CHEZ-IJAY is built with a mission: to create jobs, train youth, and empower individuals with a shared love for the craft. The founder’s vision is to impact lives through her business and provide a platform for growth and creativity.
